Sermon Title: The Parable of the Talents

Text: Matthew 25:14-30

Focus: Who is God in this story? Why did Jesus tell this story during the final week of his life? Could it be that Jesus tells this story to warn his disciples that this week is not going to end in the way that they think it will end? For the God we see in Jesus is not a God who dominates others through wielding power, the God we see in Jesus is a God who sacrifices his life to save those who are lost and overlooked.
