Way Forward Prayer Vigil

A Very Special Ministry Opportunity: Pray with Us!

Pastor Taylor is encouraging the entire First Church family to be part of a special prayer vigil surrounding the upcoming special General Conference of the worldwide United Methodist Church. The Conference will specifically consider the subject of human sexuality and is set for Feb. 23-26 in St, Louis, MO.

Vigil prayers will focus on:

  • The meeting of the General Conference

  • The United Methodist Church

  • The delegates from each Conference who will represent local churches

  • The unity of the Church

If you are unable to join us at the church you can pray anywhere – in your home or workplace, on a walk, in your car.

By praying through the days and nights of the General Conference, each of us becomes a witness to the power of living and loving in Christian fellowship.

Bishop Grant Hagiya, a member of the Commission on A Way Forward, shares reflections about the book: Anatomy of Peace, and what it means to live with a heart at peace.
