Easter Worship

Join us at 8:30, 9:45 or 11 am

Easter is a time of joy and renewal. Followers of Jesus saw their darkest days replaced with the miracle of hope and eternal life. Today we take time for self-examination and reflection during Lent. "Going dark" for a few weeks prepares us to fully experience those first rays of resurrection light on Easter.

This prayer was composed by the Rev. Michaela Youngson, the Methodist Church of Britain.

Prayer:
When everything was dark
and it seemed that the sun would never shine again,
your love broke through.

Your love was too strong,
too wide,
too deep
for death to hold.

The sparks cast by your love
dance and spread
and burst forth
with resurrection light.

Gracious God,
We praise you for the light of new life
made possible through Jesus.
We praise you for the light of new life
that shone on the first witnesses of resurrection.
We praise you for the light of new life
that continues to shine in our hearts today.

We pray that the Easter light of life, hope and joy,
will live in us each day;
and that we will be bearers of that light
into the lives of others.
Amen.

UMW Spring Brunch

Enjoy a morning with great friends and delicious food as the United Methodist Women host a Spring Brunch. Special guest speaker is Mission Developer, Rebel Hurd. Rebel will speak on homeless in Sioux Falls and how, based on her own experience we are all only one tragedy away for homelessness ourselves. Rebel will speak to how her faith has endured after her and her family lost all their possessions in a tragic house fire.

Rebel and her team minister daily to those living on the margins and those un-housed. Rebel and her team also lead monthly worship services, Church on the Street, the second Saturday of each month. Proceeds of the brunch will be donated to Church on the Street.

To help Rebel and her family, as they get used to their New Normal, a gift registry has been created at Target or a cash donation can be made on their Go Fund Me page.
