Rose Rhead I grew up on a farm near Clear Lake, South Dakota. I was baptized, confirmed and raised in the Lutheran (Wisconsin Synod) faith. I graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1980 and have lived in Sioux Falls since then. I have been a life-long learner Ð taking my education in steps throughout the years. I began with a one-year program at Nettleton College right after high school. A few years later I received an associate degree from Killian Community College. Still yearning for more education, I returned to college and received both a Bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration and a Masters of Business Administration through the University of Sioux Falls. From the time I graduated from high school until coming to work for First United Methodist Church in June 2011, I worked in the legal field. The past 21 years was with the Davenport Evans firm here in Sioux Falls the last 12 years were as their business manager. While I completely enjoyed the intensity of the legal profession, I began to feel the need to be more of a servant. Having joined the First United Methodist church in 2008, I was able to become more of a servant, getting involved in drama, bells, choir, book studies, confirmation mentor, and helping wherever needed. So when the opportunity became available to work here at First United, I found the answer that I was searching for. I have two wonderful children. My daughter, Linda, currently works at Dunns Brothers Coffee. My son, Brandon, attends high school at Canton. We live in rural Sioux Falls and enjoy most sports, fishing, grilling out, and entertaining friends. Most of my spare time, however, is spent doing community theater through the Mighty Corson Art Players, Sioux Empire Community Theater, and, of course, right here at First United. |
