Dick Boyd, Associate Pastor Dick grew up on a farm near Henry, SD where I graduated from High School in 1966. From there I went to college at Dakota Wesleyan graduating in 1970. After college I taught High School Business Education in Milbank, SD for four years. Then I worked at Dakota State Bank in Milbank for one year. Actually I was running from my call to ministry during that year as I really wanted God to call me to something other than Ordained Ministry. During that year I did accept my call and after much prayer and thought, Cheryl and I left South Dakota for Asbury Seminary in Kentucky. I have never regretted that decision. I served as student pastor for 3 years while attending seminary. My appointments in the Dakotas Conference began with Conde/Andover for 2 ½ years, Rapid City South Maple UMC for 7 ½ years, Milbank Central UMC for 8 years, and at First UMC Jamestown, ND the prior 9 years. Over the years I have served on the Conference Camping Committee, Conference Finance Committee, Chair of the Northern Regional Board of Ministry, as a Presiding Elder for 3 years, the New Church Development Committee, and various District Committees. In college I met the young lady, Cheryl, who graciously agreed to marry me. We have a daughter Paula, who is married to Ryan and they have two sons, Samuel and Mason. Paula, Ryan, Sam and Mason live in Brandon. Our son Timothy is married to Mindy and they have two daughters Gracie and Eden and a son Will. They live in Omaha. |
