HEALTH KITS
There is a tremendous need for health kits at this time. Sager Brown headquarters in Baldwin, LA are nearly out of these kits. You can be a part of this wonderful tool for reaching out to the thousands of people who do not have these basic items for being healthy and clean. We may open our minds and hearts to all people.
These are the items on the list for 2008:
1 hand towel (15"x25" up to 17"x27"). No kitchen towels.
1 washcloth (DO NOT NEED)
1 comb
1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up) (DO NOT NEED)
1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, NO child size brushes)
6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
$1.00 to purchase toothpaste (Sager is now purchasing toothpaste in bulk to ake sure that the date of the product does not expire before sending overseas or wherever they are sent).
*Note: Monetary donations are most welcome. Our dollars are 100%efficient as every dollar you designate for a specific purpose goes to that program becasue UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) receives their cost from the annual One Great Hour of Sharing funds.
INGATHERING KITS: Now about the kits
LAYETTES--there is a special need for sleepers and onesies at this time. Watch the local newspaper ads for good sales on these items.
SEWING KITS--Lists of articles to be included are available also.
SCHOOL KITS--Wait until the back to school ads come out for the best prices on these things.
Again thank all of you for your willing help. First United Church is making a difference!
THANK YOU!
